Indianapolis, IN (February 17, 2008) - PDM has signed a contract to run and support an Indy Pro Series car for rookie driver Cyndie Alleman. The American Spirit Team has given the green light to PDM to support the car and Cyndie for the full 2008 IRL IPS championship. The car will run the number 18.
Already having 5 test days under our belts at Sebring, Homestead and then out to Phoenix we look forward to the 2008 season starting in Homestead at the end of March.
Work is going on at a furious pace at the PDM shop in Indy in preparation for the final test before the season officially begins.
Cyndie comes from the Europeon Formula 3 series and is looking at climbing her professional ladder by running in the IRL's premier feeder series. In her first test at Sebring Cyndie ran close to 400 miles in the 2 day test acclimating her to the car, her surroundings, and the PDM crew (the last can be pretty intimidating in itself). On to Homestead where she ran extremely well, running within 2mph of last years pole time before an engine malady sidelined our effort. Finally out to Phoenix where Cyndie set the pace on both days with 10 other drivers participating in the test.
The car is currently being rebuilt and readied for further testing and in preparation to an all out assault on the 2008 series with Rookie of the Year honors being the first of many goals set upon by this venue.
Sponsorship is still being pursued for PDM's Indy 500 campaign and we are cautiously optimistic in getting a package signed in the near future.
